The AKC notes raw salmon can carry parasites. Salmon poisoning disease is caused by bacteria carried by a fluke found in raw salmon and trout from the Pacific Northwest, and it can kill dogs if untreated. Cooking kills the parasite. Smoked salmon is too salty, and small bones can cause choking.
Yes
Yes, if it's fully cooked, plain and boneless. Salmon is a good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Never feed raw or undercooked salmon: in parts of North America it can carry a parasite that causes salmon poisoning disease, which can be fatal.

What you need to know
How to offer it safely
- Cook fully (baked, poached or steamed) without seasoning.
- Remove all bones and skin.
- Offer small portions as a treat or meal topper.
Treats, including human food, should make up no more than about 10% of your dog's daily calories. Our calorie calculator shows your dog's daily needs. Introduce any new food slowly and stop if it causes vomiting or loose stools.
If your dog ate some
- If your dog ate raw salmon or trout, tell your vet, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Signs of salmon poisoning start about a week later.

Questions.
Can dogs eat salmon skin?
Cooked skin is very fatty; a small piece is fine but it isn't needed.
