Browsing Adoption Listings
Navigate to the Discover tab and scroll to the Adoption section. Each card shows the pet's photo, name, age, breed, size, gender, and an "Adoption" badge. Tap any card to open the full listing.
The Listing Detail Page
The detail page shows everything you need to decide:
- Photo gallery — swipe left and right to browse all photos
- Pet name, age, breed, size, and gender
- Full description and personality traits
- Owner or shelter info and contact badge
- "Request Adoption" button at the bottom
Submitting an Adoption Request
Tap "Request Adoption"
Found at the bottom of the listing detail page.
Write an Optional Message
Tell the owner or shelter about yourself. E.g., "We have a large backyard and two kids who love dogs." This increases your chances of being accepted.
Send Your Request
Tap "Send Request". A confirmation toast appears and your request is logged.
Wait for a Response
You'll receive a push notification when the owner or shelter responds. Track status in Inbox → Adoption Requests.
Browsing Foster Listings
Foster listings work the same way as adoption — go to the Discover tab and scroll to the Foster section. Foster cards also show the duration (e.g., "2 weeks", "1 month"). Tap a card to open the detail page. Tap "Request Foster" to apply.
Fostering Request Form
The foster request form has these fields:
Tap "Send Request" to submit. You'll receive a confirmation and can track the request from your Inbox.
Tracking Your Requests
Go to Inbox → Adoption Requests tab. Each request shows its current status:
Pending
Waiting for the owner or shelter to respond.
Accepted
Your request was approved. Open the request to chat and arrange next steps.
Rejected
The owner declined. You can browse and apply to other listings.
💡 Tip: Tap any request to open its details and start a chat directly with the owner or shelter.
